Stainless steel torque arms for K..19, K..29, and SPIROPLAN® gear units

stainless steel torque

Galvanized sheets were previously used as torque arms for the K..19, K..29, and all SPIROPLAN® gear units. These sheets were sometimes supplied painted and sometimes unpainted. When OS1, OS2, OS3, or OS4 surface protection is selected, the galvanized sheet metal torque arms do not meet the corrosion protection requirements. Since the paint does not adhere sufficiently to the galvanized sheet, the required level of corrosion protection cannot be achieved through painting. Therefore, in the future, new torque arms made of stainless steel will be used in combination with OS1, OS2, OS3, or OS4 surface protection.

All torque arms for K..19, K..29, and all SPIROPLAN® gear units will be delivered unpainted in the future. Depending on the selected surface protection for the drive as a whole, the torque arms are made of galvanized sheet metal (standard OSG painting) or stainless steel (OS1, OS2, OS3, OS4 painting).

The dimensions for the new stainless steel torque arms are identical to those of the galvanized torque arms.

The stainless steel torque arms for K..19 and K..29 gear units / gearmotors, and all SPIROPLAN® gear units / gearmotors with OS1 to OS4 surface protection painting were released on September 3, 2018.
